Role Overview
GreenMind International School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Science Teacher to deliver engaging, inquiry-driven science lessons to students in Grades I to V. The ideal candidate will have a relevant academic qualification in science education, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to inspire a love of scientific discovery in young learners. Experience with the Cambridge curriculum and prior teaching experience in an English-medium school will be a significant advantage. Position count: 1.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated science lessons for Grades I to V — making complex scientific concepts accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for primary-age learners
- Design lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources that align with the Cambridge Primary Science curriculum and the school's academic framework
- Create and facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences — including class experiments, science demonstrations, and project-based learning activities
- Assess student learning accurately and consistently through formative assessments, class participation, assignments, and end-of-term examinations
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date student academic records — marking work promptly, providing detailed and constructive written feedback, and preparing termly progress reports
- Manage the classroom environment positively and effectively — fostering curiosity, respect, and a love of learning in all students
- Collaborate with other primary teachers and the academic team on cross-subject projects, school events, and curriculum planning
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians on student academic progress and development
- Participate actively in school CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programmes, staff meetings, and academic workshops
- Contribute to school science fairs, STEM activities, and extracurricular educational initiatives
Requirements
- Relevant academic qualification in Science, Science Education, or a related field from a recognised institution
- Strong subject knowledge in Primary Science across Grades I to V
- Good communication skills in English — both written and verbal
- Ability to engage students through interactive, student-centred, and inquiry-based teaching approaches
- Previous teaching experience in an English-medium school is preferred
- Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary curriculum is a significant advantage
