Job Description
Pinterest is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to strengthen the infrastructure that powers visual discovery for 450M+ monthly active users. You'll build reliable, scalable systems and drive automation that keeps Pinterest fast and resilient for users worldwide.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale distributed infrastructure on AWS and GCP
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and automate deployments with Kubernetes
- Drive reliability improvements through SLO definition, error budgets, and runbook development
- Lead technical troubleshooting during high-severity incidents and post-mortems
- Collaborate with software engineers to build systems that are operable and observable by design
Requirements
- 6+ years in systems engineering, SRE, or infrastructure roles
- Strong Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platform expertise (AWS/GCP)
- Proficiency in Python or Go for automation and tooling
- Experience with large-scale data storage systems (Cassandra, Kafka, S3)
- AWS or GCP Professional certification strongly preferred
